International Society for Krishna Consciousness
ISKCON Chowpatty (Virar Satsang Centre) is a branch of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) founded by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966. Our temple in Virar serves as a spiritual oasis for devotees and visitors seeking peace, wisdom, and divine connection.
We conduct regular devotional programs, distribute spiritual literature, and provide vegetarian prasadam to all visitors. Our mission is to propagate Krishna consciousness as explained in the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.

Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. It's observed on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Bhadrapada (August-September). The festival is marked by fasting, prayers, devotional singing, and the reenactment of Krishna's life stories, particularly his childhood.
